Saving Money

Today we had a visit from an ASB representative that gave us some tips about saving money...

Rudolph is telling you what he learnt....

Do chores at home and outside and save your pocket money.
Run a small business with a group like a sausage sizzle or a Garage Sale.
You can get an eftpos card when you are 12 and a credit card when you are 18 or over- you can bank your money.
Spend some money and save some too.
You could babysit or do some jobs for other people.

Healthy Food Day

On Tuesday the 15th of April the Patu team had a big healthy eating day and all 4 classes got to choose a main food group. Room 6 did mini pizzas, Room 5 did meatballs, Room 8 did fruit kebabs and Room 9 did veggies and dips. Thank you to the Heart Foundation for providing the food for us and thank you to everyone who remembered their plate and fork. You were very responsible.

Science Learning Hub

Today we had a visit from Stephen Williams who works for the Science Learning Hub and he shared some very interesting ideas with us about 'Fibre' in food. Here is the power point he shared with us. We had some great thinking and discussion.

Movin' March

Last week we recorded how each person travelled to school each day as part of a survey for Movin' March. This week we had a go at making a line graph using the chrome books.

We found out that most people in our class walked to school.

Over the week less people came by car.

On Friday which was 'Wheels Day' more people came by skateboard and scooter.
