Music Mission

What an amazing week having the opportunity to learn and perform by singing, playing the ukelele and making rhythm using rubbish bins and broomstick handles. Thanks Jonny and the Goodtime Music Academy for giving us this amazing experience for free!

  Maui's Dolphin

To the Editor

At the moment we have heard that there is going to be oil drilling where the last of the Maui's dolphins are. My friends and I are unhappy with this situation about the oil drilling. We really want the oil drilling to STOP where the Maui's dolphins are especially because they are nearly extinct. Simon Bridges does not seem to care about the extinction of the Maui's dolphins.The Government has opened up more than 3000 square kilometres of a marine mammal sanctuary for oil and gas drilling.

Please Don't Cut Down Our Trees

If they cut all the big old trees down there will be no forests for birds to live in.There will be no oxygen for human beings and any other breathing animals and all of our native birds will die and future generations won't get to see any of their native birds and people will forget what represented our country.

Bernie Upton!!!

Last week Bernie Upton came to Trentham School to talk about.....Groups!!!

Bernie was a professional rugby player and he was in the Chiefs and Hurricanes!! At the end of his talk he handed out rugby balls to Sifa  and Nikita!!

Pulse Netball Team

Gemma and Irene from the Pulse netball team came to our school and talked to us about healthy eating. They talked to us about sports and teamwork and how you can keep fit by doing sports and getting active. After that they choose some people to ask some questions. Irene is a very active and funny lady.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

On Friday the 13 the school joined with their buddy classes to do a bug display for the hall. Each buddy class made a different display on bugs. Room 6 and Room 16 made flowers out of origami paper and bugs out of laminating sheets.

Samoan Language Week

Talofa! Last week we celebrated Samoan Language Week and learnt a few new words in Samoan. Samoan is now the fourth most commonly spoken language in New Zealand. Several of our Samoan students gave speeches and songs in Samoan at our syndicate assemblies. We were so proud of them!
